From 16–18 September, Minor Compositions marked the publication of CERFI: Analysis Everywhere. Militancy, Research, Architecture and Psychiatry by Susana Caló and Godofredo Enes Pereira with three events across London. The book reconstructs the history and practices of CERFI – the Centre for Institutional Study, Research, and Training, co-founded by Félix Guattari – and its experiments with institutional analysis across psychiatry, architecture, research, education, political organising and everyday collective life. Across the three events, the history of CERFI became a starting point for thinking about what it might mean to practise analysis everywhere today.
September 16 – Freud Museum, London
The series began with an evening symposium at the Freud Museum, bringing Susana Caló and Godofredo Enes Pereira into conversation with CERFI founding member Anne Querrien and a wider group of participants working across psychoanalysis, politics, architecture and institutional practice. September 17 – Royal College of Art, London
The conversation continued at the Royal College of Art, opening CERFI’s practices onto questions of architecture, collective equipment, research and institutional experimentation. More information.
September 18 – Freedom Bookshop, London
The three days concluded at Freedom Bookshop with a more informal discussion of the book, CERFI’s political and editorial practices, and what can still be learned from its attempts to bring analysis into the spaces where collective life is organised. More information.
